Privacy Policy
PlainAirQuality is published by Kiznis Studio. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We try to keep this short and human-readable rather than legalistic.
What we collect
We use Umami, a privacy-friendly self-hosted web analytics tool, to count page views and understand which pages are useful to visitors. Umami does not set tracking cookies, does not collect personally identifying information, and does not share data with any third party. The data captured is limited to: page URL, referrer URL, device type (desktop/mobile/tablet), screen resolution bucket, browser family, operating system family, and country (derived from IP, then IP is discarded). No individual user can be identified or tracked across visits.
We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements. AdSense may set cookies and may collect data subject to Google's privacy policy. Under EU GDPR / UK DPA we implement Google Consent Mode v2 with defaults set to "denied" for ad-storage, ad-user-data, and ad-personalization until you grant consent through the cookie banner.
If you email us at hello@plainairquality.com, we receive your email address and message and retain them for up to 24 months to handle follow-up correspondence.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
- We do not create user profiles, do not run remarketing campaigns, and do not use cross-site tracking pixels.
- We do not require account registration, login, or email signup to access any content on this site.
- We do not use Facebook, TikTok, or other social-network tracking pixels.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK you have the right to access, correct, port, restrict processing of, and erase any personal data we hold about you. We hold almost none, but if you have emailed us and would like us to delete the thread, email hello@plainairquality.com and we will action the deletion within 30 days.
Cookies
This site uses cookies only when (a) Google AdSense serves an ad and you have granted ad-storage consent, or (b) you express a preference via the cookie banner (the banner remembers your choice via a first-party cookie). Umami analytics does not use cookies.
Children
This site is general-purpose data journalism and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
